What a Thriller! U16s Battle Through to County Cup Quarter Finals

The U16s faced Wellington Academy in the last 16, and what a nail-biter it turned out to be! Playing away with just 11 players, the boys knew they had a challenge ahead—but they rose to it in style.

The game kicked off with Wellington striking first, but Pewsey hit back almost immediately to level the score. Just before half-time, we edged ahead 2-1, giving us a boost going into the second half.

That confidence paid off as we stormed into a 4-1 lead—but Wellington weren’t done yet. They clawed their way back to 4-4, and as our heads dipped, they pushed on to make it 6-4. With only five minutes left, things looked bleak… but this team never gives up! We pulled one back—6-5—and then, with just minutes to spare, equalized at 6-6. The crowd was on edge as the whistle blew. Penalties would decide it.

Under immense pressure, our boys kept their cool. Huge credit to Cabhan, Harry, Mac, and Jack for slotting their penalties home. And a massive shout-out to Mac in goal—two incredible saves sealed the win! Final penalty score: 4-1 to Pewsey.
